Brands to avoid if you want to avoid GMOs.
Show your disapproval of GMOs by voting with your wallet.

What can we eat? If you are trying to avoid GMOs, your options can be limited. You have to do your research and choose wisely. Gone are the days of skipping happily through the store throwing whatever you want in your basket, thinking all food is safe and nutritious.

Years ago, our grandparents didn’t worry about the health aspects of the foods they ate. Several decades ago, we didn’t question where our food came from, as we still had the local dairy, butcher, and produce stands right in our neighborhoods, but that is rarely the case today. It is easy to live in ignorance and believe that all foods sold in the grocery store are safe, but there is just so much available to us for purchase that we just shouldn’t be putting in our bodies. It’s common knowledge that big business and money drive market brands, and big dollar advertising influences our decisions. And if people will buy it, companies will sell it. So who is really looking out for what we put into our bodies? You! Me! We are the ones that have to be our own regulatory agencies. Don’t leave it up to the government or big business, because they are looking out for the mighty dollar.

Let’s look at Monsanto for example.  This company is BIG business. And their insidious claws are getting into all aspects of our food supply. This is the company that got its start developing saccharin, which is shown to cause cancer in rats. Yet, they continue to sell it to the public, and are allowed to continue to sell it, despite substantiated research. They are also the company that created Agent Orange. And they have created the herbicide glyphosate, better known as Round Up. And because Round Up kills not only weeds but also crops, Monsanto has genetically modified seeds  that grow plants resistant to this weed killer.(1,2,3)*

Last week we looked at the many seed companies to avoid if you want to steer clear of Monsanto GMO seeds. And, we included the safe list of non-GMO seeds. This week, let’s look at the brands that use GMOs in their foods. Most of these are processed foods, that you might not even think about whether they contain GMOs. But they do.(1,2,4)*

Here is a list of brands that use ingredients owned by Monsanto and are therefore subject to genetic engineering practices (1,2)*

You can fight back by choosing wisely. Buy products that have the stamp of certified organic or Non-GMO. You will find many products proudly state that on their packaging. And if enough consumers stop buying the products that use GMOs, brands will get the message as they are in it to make money…so hitting them where it hurts will make them wake up to the fact that people want not only good tasting food, but food that is good for our bodies as well.

Because there are so many toxins and chemicals in our environment and our food and water supply, it is imperative to continue to stay on a regular dose of BODY BIOTICS™ Bio-Identical SBO Probiotics Consortia™ daily. The friendly bacteria, along with the naturally occurring minerals in the humic and fulvic prebiotic blend help to isolate and eliminate the accumulated toxins and putrefaction that accumulates in the intestinal tract. By taking all of these steps…eating organic, avoiding GMOs, keeping your gut healthy with proper intake of SBOs, you will be on the right path for long term good health.

Healthiest wishes,

Kelli
