Detox is an Important Step towards achieving Optimum Health

Realize real benefits from Detoxing   Another step in achieving optimal health.

For centuries, various cultures have realized the benefits of detoxing. They have practiced this as a means of cleansing the body of built up toxins that can cause one to experience feelings of sluggishness, chronic fatigue, skin irritations, allergies, puffy eyes, bloating and more. By eliminating toxins, then replenishing the body with healthy nutrients, lots of water and rest, a renewed sense of health and vitality can be achieved. A build up of toxins on the inside, can lead to poor complexion, dull hair and eyes, weight gain and inflammation on the outside. Think of detoxing as cleaning your body from the inside out.

“…Basically, detoxification means cleaning the blood. This is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin. However, when this system is compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected. …”1

Our bodies naturally eliminate toxins through urine, elimination and sweat. But a good detox can assist the body in this natural cleansing process. By fasting, we give the internal organs a break. A detox works to stimulate the liver to remove toxins from the body. It promotes elimination thru the intestines, kidneys and skin. It improves blood circulation and refuels the body with healthy nutrients.

“…The most noticeable benefits from detoxification are the physical ones. Since the toxins store up in major organs, detoxification will help these areas the most. The organs which are affected, such as the liver and stomach, will begin to work more effectively. After the detox is completed, you may feel “lighter” and have more energy. Also, since a detox is used to clear away free radicals, your body’s immune system will be stronger and you will have a lower risk of getting cancer. Finally, a detoxification regimen will clear your blood, helping it circulate better…”3

“…Toxins and free radicals that accumulate in the body can also affect brain functions. Before a detox, you may have trouble sleeping, chronic fatigue, and trouble with your concentration. Once you work through this process, many of these issues will gradually disappear. You will be able to sleep better and concentrate more…”3

“…A benefit which most people don’t think of can be the change to your lifestyle. As you progress through the body detox, you will begin to feel better physically and mentally. This feeling can be addictive and lead to changing your lifestyle to cut out bad elements which give your body those toxins. Quitting smoking, eating better, and getting more exercise are all actions which help protect the body. After a detox is a perfect time to begin these actions…”3

Keep in mind there are hundreds of cleanses out there but it may be helpful to pick the right cleanse for your body type. Dr, Alejandro Junger, author of the book Clean Gut revealed the best detoxes for the most common body types during an episode on the Dr. Oz show.  The three body types he identified were Fat All Over, Inflamed and Bloated Middle. Visit reference 5 to hear what he recommends for doing detoxes and the recipes involved. All of these help give the liver a break, and flush toxins from the body.

A good cleanse is helpful if you have been using Body Biotics.. As you experience die off of the bad bacteria, a good gentle cleanse helps flush toxins from your body setting your gut up for better absorption of the good bacteria.  Additionally, you can use our Aloe PURE™ once a month for a gentle intestinal cleanse. We suggest taking 1-2 a day for a maximum of 4 days as a gentle cleanse. The results of any proper cleanse is better absorption of nutrients, as well as an overall sense of improved health and well being.

Dr. Oz said it best, “…Ultimately, a plant-based diet, lots of water, and regular exercise will mean less reliance on health-care professionals of any kind – conventional or alternative. The less toxic our lifestyle, the less need there is for detoxification or drugs.4

Please note:

A regular detox is good to do but is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, children or people with chronic degenerative diseases.

Until next week,

Healthiest Wishes,

Kelli
