How pH affects everything in your body

According to a recent report from John Hopkins University, nearly half of the American
population suffers with at least one chronic condition (chronic meaning the condition
last a year or longer and may require constant care or medicating) and the numbers
are growing every day. They are not only talking about the old.  Nearly 15% of those
suffering with chronic conditions are children. 

 

Today, millions of youngsters suffer from diabetes, asthma, developmental disabilities,
cancer and other disorders, to name a few. Unfortunately, it looks like this is just the
beginning.

 

 “…The number of people with chronic conditions is growing at an alarming rate.
In 2000, 20 million more people had one or more chronic conditions than the number

from 125 million in 2000 to 171 million in the year 2030.”

At bottom of this, experts would lay odds that a deleterious condition in which
the milieu, (the intracellular and extracellular fluids of the body–including blood, saliva
and urine) are more “acidic” than they should be. In other words, the pH of the body’s
biological terrain
is out of balance and opening one up to all kinds of potential health
challenges.

 

So, what are experts saying about the importance of maintaining a healthy
Body pH:

 

According to Dr. Hiromi Shinya:  “…It is widely recognized in the medical
profession that a healthy and clean colon is one of the most important
precursors to good health and that the great majority of body ailments
and diseases originate in an acidic and dirty colon…” 2

 

And, Dr. David Carpenter/ND writes “…“Based on years of research and
observation, we have concluded that over acidification of the body is the
underlying cause of all disease. Because many people consume a diet
primarily comprised of acid forming foods, (i.e. sugars, meat, dairy, yeast
breads, coffee, alcohol, starches, etc.) rather than whole plant foods, they
are frequently sick and tired…” 2

 

Further, Dr. William Howard Hay, Surgeon, Developer of Hay Diet, states; “…If the
blood develops a more acidic condition, then these excess acidic wastes
have to be deposited somewhere in the body. If this unhealthy process
continues year after year, these areas steadily increase in acidity and
their cells begin to die. Other cells in the affected area may survive by
becoming abnormal, these are called malignant. Malignant cells cannot
respond to brain commands. They undergo a cellular division that is out
of control. This is the beginning of cancer…” 2

 

The magnitude of meaning behind these statements is of such incredible importance
to anyone who suffers from chronic conditions, is fighting a disease, overcoming an
illness, or simply has a desire to maintain long-term wellbeing. What it means is this…
Your Body pH affects EVERYTHING!

 

What is Body pH? Simply put, it is a measurement of how “acid” or “alkaline” a
substance is at any given time.  The pH scale runs from 0 on the “acid” side, to 14.14
on the “alkaline” side; a pH of 7.07 being “neutral”.  The pH of healthy oxygenated
arterial blood runs somewhere between 7.35 and 7.45, making it mildly alkaline
with very tight tolerances.  The pH of saliva runs between 6.0 and 7.0 (mildly acid
to neutral); and, that of the urine between 4.5 and 8.0 (somewhat acid to slightly
alkaline with a desired number being closer to the 7.2 range. 1.  2.

 

Alkalizing ingredients can aid the body in providing “disease fighting” alkaline reserves.
Without alkalizing the body, the body cannot heal itself no matter what modality of care
you follow.

 

Unchecked highly acidic pH levels decrease the body’s:

What causes someone to be more acidic?
Basically any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients, such as,
caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, sugar, starches, acidic foods,  all contribute to an imbalance
of the biological terrain. When this happens, the body will use internal alkaline minerals
to compensate for the acidic condition.  If one’s daily diet doesn’t contain enough minerals
to compensate and rebalance the body, a buildup of acids will occur in the cells.

 

So what can you do to protect yourself? I would like to tell you that it’s simple….
just go to your local yellow pages and search for “Biological Terrain Analysis” but
unfortunately, you could search an entire metropolitan city and not find a single doctor
who knows anything about these important diagnostic tools. And, fortunately, there is
one simple home-test solution to help you get a better understanding of your body pH.

 

If you want to test your own pH levels, you can do so easily with pH strips for testing the
morning urine.  These are readily available at your local health food store, or you can order
a 15 or 90 day supply from us at www.bodybiotics.com.  Instructions are easy, simply use
one strip to test the first morning urine and match the results to the color chart provided
in the kit. Do this for several days to get an overall average.  If your numbers range more
closely to the 5.0 to 6.4, this is considered too acidic.  So

2. Lemons are naturally alkalizing. Add ½ lemon to a cup of warm water first thing in the

3. Eat a minimum of one cup of greens a day, such as, kale, spinach, kale, collard greens,
bok choy, etc.
4. Reduce high-protein foods, choose fish or lamb over chicken and beef.
5. Reduce processed foods, cereals, flours, sugar, coffee, and tea
6. Reduce alcohol intake
7. Use finer oils, such as, virgin olive oil, grape seed oil, and coconut oil, as they are less
acid-forming than other vegetable oils.
8. Use ½ to 1 teaspoon of buffered vitamin C powder — per day in water before bed helps
to alkalinize your body.
